Eddie the Eagle

Are you in need of a pick me up moment? Inspiration? A can do anything attitude adjustment?

Watch Eddie the Eagle ( PG-13 2016). Based on the true story of Eddie Edwards, a determined, strong-willed British underdog who never gave up... even if everyone was against him.

It's a great human interest film that can be enjoyed by the whole family. Hugh Jackman does an awesome job as an unlikely coach and Taron Egerton who plays Eddie touches your heart. Feel-good movies are rare these days, but this one produces moist eyes and a tug at the heart strings.

It may inspire you to think about ski jumping, (or maybe not doing it, but watching it). The Winter Olympic Games 2018 will be held in Pyeongchang, South Korea. I know I will be sure to watch the ski jumpers and marvel at the courage, skill and can-do attitude it takes to achieve such a feat.

With the summer Olympics 2016 fast upon us, this film is a memento of the goal and mission of the Olympics. Pierre de Coubertin (dubbed the father of the modern Olympics) had it right when he said, "The important thing in life is not the triumph but the struggle, the essential thing is not to have conquered but to have fought well." It's a wonderful reminder what the definition of an Olympian is--Eddie the Eagle understood this.

I give this movie my rating of :

"Loved it, made me feel awesome"
