What will you do with your last two days?

What a year! And it’s not over yet. There are two days left in 2016. Two days you will never get back; two days to make a memory, and create history, your history.

So, what should you do? Hmmm…Get out of the house? Spend some time with friends and family or should you be courageous and try something new. Maybe you just need to relax? Then watch a great movie or curl up with a good book.

Perhaps, before the year ends you need to set some goals. Why not make travel a priority next year and plan a vacation for 2017, before 2016 ends.

In the spirit of 2016, (and since my blog, Words Travel Film was born in 2016), here are 16 Words, Travel, Film suggestions on what to read, what to watch and where to travel in the last two days of 2016.

Words-- Curl up in a comfy chair and try one of these reads, all available on Amazon:

  1. A Deep Thing by A.K. Smith $5.99 kindle (yes I had to list my debut suspense novel that released last week! Take the journey and let me know what you think, write a review).

  2. In a dark, dark wood by Ruth Ware $11.99 kindle (a psychological twister designed to scare you).

  3. Garden Spells by Sarah Addison Allen $9.99 on kindle (a magical story about two sisters)

  4. Me before You by Jojo Moyes $9.99 on kindle (a story to inspire you and make you realize how important living your best life is, the movie by the same title, is also terrific).

  5. Abandon by Blake Crouch $.99 on kindle ( I love this author. Beware, it has a little twist of horror/suspense to keep you turning the pages and a cold colorado setting to make you want to crawl under a blanket).

Travel- Plan a trip in these last two days of 2016 -- 2017 will thank you for it.

  1. Look up Puerto Penasco Mexico. This gorgeous little town on the Sea of Cortez is worth checking out. Plan a trip in February to see the whales. If you need a rental email me.

  2. Research a place on your travel bucket list. You do have a travel bucket right? If not-- create one. Search the web, go to Trip Advisor, read all about your dream destination, book it and get excited.

  3. Have you ever wanted to go to Cuba? I have and it’s on my list for 2017. Check out some packages that make Cuba travel possible.

  4. Hike the Inca Trail and see Machu Picchu in Peru before they close it to the public. Yes, rumor has it they are planning on limiting the access that exists today.

  5. Sign up for an America the Beautiful National Park Pass for 2017 (it’s only $80.00, good for 4 adults and over 2000 locations) and plan a vacation in the good ole USA. Utah is on my radar this year, Bryce, and Zion National Parks.

Film- Grab a blanket, pop the corn and take your shoes off to get comfy.

  1. My All American on Netflix- This is a feel-good football movie for the whole family. Read my review here.

  2. Eddie the Eagle - Another feel good movie, read my review. Get inspired the last two days.

  3. The Gilmore Girls on Netflix- a clever series about a single mom and daughter that will make you laugh and project warm love. Once you’ve seen the original series, watch the new episodes released this year.

  4. Containment on Netflix- Pretty intense series, not a warm and fuzzy show; however, I bet once you watch the pilot, you can’t help but watch the whole series. Just remember four to six feet. I pray this will never happen in my lifetime.

  5. Ray Donovan on Showtime – Dark, dark series with an excellent acting job by Liev Schreiber and Jon Voight. Ray Donovan is a fixer to the Hollywood elite and boy do they have issues. It’s hard not to keep watching. Binge-worthy.

  6. Outlander on Starz- Romance, time travel, and history make this series worth watching. If you would rather read than watch, get the best-selling book series by Diane Gabaldon. The beautiful cinematography in Scotland will make you want to visit.

Why not read, travel or watch a show that inspires you? Enjoy the last two days of 2016 with zest! Play in the snow, walk in the sunshine or veg on the couch with a great book or movie. And, thanks for sticking with my blog as we enter 2017--there's exciting things to come. Whatever you do, make a memory, it will be the last one of the year. Happy 2016! See you next year--the best is yet to come.
