If you are looking for a contemporary romance read, check out Steele and Stone by Author Kay Phoenix. It's a quick fun read and takes place in one of my favorite states, Colorado.
It's the first book of The Daring Hearts Series by The Wild Rose Press.
I asked Kay three questions about herself:
You're stuck on a deserted island, you can have three books with you, what would they be?
"Survive! - Essential Skills and Tactics to Get You Out of Anywhere - Alive" by Les Stroud. This is the guy that use to have the "Survivorman" show. Not the one that had the film crew. This guy was out there filming himself. I'd do whatever he says in this book.
"Cry of the Kalahari" by Mark and Delia Owens. It's my favorite book and I've read it at least ten times. I never tire of their true adventures.
Three books? Ahhh, the last one would have to be something about how to prepare fresh fish or something.
Favorite place to vacation?
I was lucky enough to go to Israel a couple years ago and it was magical. Knowing that travel there is becoming more and more restricted, it was even more special. I loved visiting Jerusalem, Bethlehem, Masada and floating in the Dead Sea.
Best advice to anyone who wants to write a fiction novel?
Do your research. Even if you're writing Fantasy or Paranormal, you want your readers to believe the world you build. Join a critique group of like-minded authors, and really listen to what they have to say. Attend conventions and conferences, don't be a hermit. :-)

Ms. Phoenix is a rare bird herself...a lifelong resident of Las Vegas, Nevada. She belongs to Las Vegas Romance Writers and has served on the board for several years. She is also a member of Romance Writers of America with PAN status.
Prior to writing, Kay was a Graphic Artist for fifteen years in the casino industry and holds degrees in both Graphic Arts and Psychology. In her spare time she enjoys hiking, traveling and photography. She is also involved in several Las Vegas non-profits, and is the current Chairman of a popular, long-running, local art show.
Kay has been blessed to be able to travel many places, which inspired her to host a weekly author spotlight called “Midweek Escapes” on her blog. It features guest author’s favorite vacation destinations, their travel tips, and, of course, information about their book releases and occasional giveaways.
